A good place to adopt ferrets is from a rescue. I know of one in Virginia who we are involved with. Ferret Rescue of Virginia 354 King Christian Circle Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462 (804) 490-5767,497-1055 Pam DeShond When you get a ferret from a shelter they will usually have all their shots and thorough medical exams. You will also have some insight in what kind of ferret you are getting IE: temperment, what kind of food it likes, whether it will get along with other ferrets, treats, etc. Also not to beat a dead horse (excuse the pun), but on the comment about grieving ferret owners, if you don't want to read about it, scroll past it. In the past 18 months I have lost one of my own and three in the shelter that I grew close to. The first two I just dealt with their deaths, the last two I wrote articles about in our newsletter. I found that writing about it seemed to purge the grief a little bit and it made it easier to deal with. That's all people are trying to do, is get rid of a little pain and they know we are here to lend a sympathetic ear (or in this case eye). So basically all I'm saying is if you don"t like it don"t read it. Hans Danziger Brevard Ferret Lover's Rescue [Posted in FML issue 1429]
