Well, Sami has spent 1 day with us. :) I'm not sure if it is her new environment, the fact that she is an albino, or the fact that she is not yet used to me, but she is very aggressive towards me. I cannot reach into her cage now. She springs up and down whenever I come by, which makes me think she wants to be picked up, but when I try, no matter how gently, I can expect to be bitten over and over for my attempt. I've tried bitter apple on my fingers, but she still bites and will not release. I also cannot hold her, even when she is tired. She bites and bites and squirms until released. I cannot even get her to take a nice little piece of bannana or a raisen! I've tried the harsh sound recommended in the FAQ, and grabbing her by the back of the neck like a mother would do, but no luck. Same with the bitter apple. Is this just normal behavior that will take lots of time to curb? My original ferret...Cody (who has been with us for 4 years) was never this aggressive. She's got my wife scared to be around her since Sami will spring up in the air, launching herself towards her with teeth bared and mouth wide open, and she bites whatever she lands on. Its quite a thing to see. :( If anyone can share personal experience with me in a quick personal email I'd be in your debt! Regards, Jeff [Posted in FML issue 1392]
