Just learned that the Cal. F&G will vote on declaring the domestic ferret a domestic animal (only in California would that make sense) on Thursday, Nov. 2nd at 10:30am. It is #2 on the adgenda. The meeting will be held in the Port Hole room of the Holiday Inn at 1335 N. Harbor Drive in San Diego. I'm told the public are welcome to attend, but are cautioned to not offend any of the commisioners. Sounds like sound diplomatic advise. I asked if they rule in favor of reversing the current ban, could they on a simple vote reverse it again, declaring the domestic ferret a "wild animal" (which it currently is considered)>>..? The answer I got was yes, they could do so unless the legislature passed a law that limited their authority in this matter. So I'm praying for all the people and fuzzies so affected that they reverse the current ban, and even if they declared domestic ferrets "domestic" and not subject to regulation, I would continue to support efforts to clarify the situation via legislative measure of law. I hope that all wasn't too mind bending, but I notice if I think about politics and politicians too much I get a headache>>:) Sincerley & humbly praying, Gary Violence is not strength, Compassion is not weakness.
