Just to give you all an update on the Mass Bill. We are still stuck in Senate Ways and Means Committee. I spoke to Susan Paulson today, Friday. She is the person in Senate Ways and Means thats in charge of the bill. She said that the letters have been coming in all week and it has made an impact. Great going everyone! She also told me that one of the Reps had called Sen Birmingham (wouldn't say who) and said that "she'd" been getting a lot of calls from her constituents regarding HB295 and what was the story with it? Nice going everyone! This is what we want. Wish I knew which Rep it was. Asked her if we should continue, she said YES. Also, the best advice she gave me is to let everyone know that they should talk to their own Senator and Representative, and have them contact Senator Birmingham along with keeping up our letter writing. So if you know of any Mass residents, please let them know this. If they don't know who their reps/senators are, have them call me at (617)224-1098 or e-mail me and I'll be glad to give them the info. I will continue to write Sen. Birmingham a letter every week until this is resolved. We are also looking for constituents of Senator Birmingham. His district is: Boston, Ward 2; Wd 21 - Pct. 5-8; Wd. 22-Pct 1,2), Cambridge (Wd. 3-Pct 2,3; Wd 4-Pcts 1,2; Wd 6-Pcts 3,4; Wd 7 Pcts 1,2; Wd 8; Wd 9 - Pcts 1,3,4; Wd 10 - Pct 3), Chelsea, Everett, Revere (Wd. 6) Saugus, Pcts 2,4, 6), Somerville (Wd 1 - Pct 1; Wd 2 - Pct 1), Please contact him by phone at (617) 722-1481. Ask to speak to him or his aide. Tell him that you are a constituent of his and that you want him to please act on House Bill 295. You can also write to him stating that you are a constituent of his. If anyone out of state wishes to contact Senator Birmingham, the address to write is: The Honorable Senator Thomas Birmingham, Chairman, Senate Ways and Means Committee State House Boston, MA 02133 Please feel free to write to him regarding this issue. Thanks for all your help and support. For the Ferrets, Sharon Burbine Mass Friends of the Domestic Ferret Group [Posted in FML issue 1330]
