     Yuki, while cats can spread the virus on their coat, feet etc., just
like we do on our clothes - a so-called mechanical vector, there is no
evidence that they can can be infected by it.  This virus appears to be
fairly specific for mustelids.  We think that it can also infect mink, but
that their infection may not result in clinical signs.  I don't think you
have to worry about anyone who has pets other than ferrets.
