Re: Ferrets on airlines - The suggestion that you try to pass off a ferret as a kitten is possible. The problem is that if you go through security it will; depend on what airport you're at and who is at the checkpoint. At STL my son was stopped with a squirrel in his jacket and they wouldn't let a "wild animal" pass through. So you'd better be prepared for a discussion. Coming on the plane shouldn't be a problem and you should expect that the flight attendants (they're not called stewardesses anymore FYI) or even a pilot, will ask you what's in the box. However, that's (99% of the time) just out of curiosity / and / or conversation. Telling them it's a ferret would probably not be a problem - however -- I don't think I'd take the chance. I am a pilot with TWA and I'm not even sure what our rules are, but I've seen some pretty strange pets come on the airplane in 28 years. Of course I've seen some pretty strange people too! If anyone is interested in TWA's regulations, e-mail me at lloyd [log in to unmask] and I'll see what I can discover - Lloyd Murray [Posted in FML issue 1274]
