hello,
We need some advice from those of you who have ferrets that have survived
surgery for adrenal tumors/exploratory surgery. Our sweet Emma was rushed
(in a panic, by us) to the vet because of a sudden abdominal swelling,
after x-rays we were told that she needed to have exploratory surgery to
see if the tumor can be removed. It is huge, and wasn't there (or obvious)
just a couple days ago when I wrestled with her. I came back from a
weekend at Mom's and her tummy was huge and hard. Sorry I'm jumbling this
all up, but we just got back from the vet's an hour or so ago.

Anyway, we need to know if there is anything we can do to help Em survive
the surgery, or to come through in better shape. She goes in Thursday, so
if you have advice, e-mail us or call (614)848-3286, (collect if you have
to). She is our second ferret, the one I took to classes with me in
college and we are praying she does well. The vet seemed rather doubtful
about her chances. We lost one in surgery last time, he was just too weak.

Keep Emmy in your prayers, we will let you know what happens.

Thanks,

Marya and Len, with Zach (human baby) Molly (sable, 5 yrs) Emma (silver mitt
4 1/2 yrs) Grover (Mutt 3yrs) BOO-BOO (brother mutt 3yrs).
