I received an orphaned ferret at three weeks of age. My vet suggested that I feed her Nurturall, a balanced milk replacer for puppies. I have been feeding her 3 ml of this about every three to four hours. For the last week she has been doing very well, increased appetite, activity, and was very vocal. However, within the last 24 hours, she has become less active, and is no longer sleeping in a tight ball. She has passed fecal material, but her stomach seems big. I don't know if she is just eating alot, or if she has some digestive distress. In addition, I placed a small stuffed animal with her for her to sleep next to, and she has been trying to nurse off of it. I am worried that she may have swallowed a little fur. Is there anything that I should be doing to save this little one? Should I give her mineral oil? More water? Wet food? I appreciate any advise. ER [Posted in FML issue 1260]
