If you saw the CBS This Morning program this past Wednesday (5/31), you saw the hatchet job they did on ferrets. If you didn't see it, they paraded out nine-year-old Michelle Bowers, whose nose was bitten off by a ferret when she was just 29 days old. Then a Rachel Lamb of the Humane Society of the U.S. stated her opposition to the California legalization movement, cited the "files of ferret bite reports" she has, and declared she would try to stop ownership in other states if she could. In closing. CBS reporter Hattie Kauffman then regurgitated the HSUS fears that escaped ferrets could "pose a real danger to small mammals and birds."
