There was a posting on Ferret Mailing list couple of days ago stating that the ferret bill (house Bill 295) was going to be voted on in the senate this week. Wish this was true but it is not. We're still in Senate Ways and Means as of today 6/14. Rep. Brad Jones and Senate Ways and Means people think it will be in that committee for another two weeks at least. This still buys us time for our phone calls and letters. Please keep them up. The more interest we generate from this, the better chance we have of making it. I was told that what would help to kill this bill is lack of participation from ferret "supporters and owners". Here is a listing of the Senators on Senate Ways and Means Committee again fyi: You can also call or write to the Senate Ways and Means Committe all are Senators and all can be reached by writing to: Senator XXX State House Boston, MA 02133 or call them at the State House, all are area code (617). Ask to speak to the Senator but you'll probably not get thru. If not, ask to speak to their aide and be firm! Make sure you are speaking to their aide. If a senator is your own ask to speak to them directly since you are a constituant of theirs. ALSO NOTE: It is not imperative you give your name and address. But, it does help. Do not tell anyone what you own or do not own. Just that you are a ferret supporter and are concerned about this issue. Senate Ways and Means Committee: Thomas F.
