It's just youthful high spirits and a lack of discipline. We rarely if ever tranquilize ferrets - even when they go on trips. Most tranquilizers work poorly in ferrets, and they can really hurt themselves when their consciousness is altered. My suggestion - give Spanky as much free play time as possible, and download the ferret faq for some excellent advice on breaking the nipping habit. As he gets older, he will certainly calm down.
