        I generally swtich mine over about three years of age.  They seem to
start slowing down a bit, and the high protein load will contribute to the
normal aging processes in the kidneys.

        Not sure about this one - ringworm, fleas, contact allergy, etc -
better have the vet check it out....

        We have similar trouble when we go on vacation , which now we almost
never do.  If we leave the kids in the house, they go feral and forget all
about us and litter boxes - if we leave them with other families, they
appear sullen when we come home.  I think this species often suffers from
separation anxiety, much more than a lot of people will credit...
