Just so you know. at 1400hrs 5/4/95 FFDRI upgraded to Disaster Warning status due to Hurrican Allison (now classified as a Class 1 Hurricane). At that time these were the specifics: Location 26.4Degrees N 86.3Degrees West. Winds at 75Mph. Moving North at 17 Mph At that time Allison was 240 Miles SSW of Apalachcola, FL Storm surge prediction is from Pensacola, FL to Cedar Key - 8 to 12 feet. FFDIR will notify the FML when and if we go to Disaster Response Status. Current National Hurricane Center, Miami Fl predicts Hurricane Allison to landfall within the next 24 hours. Suncoast Weasel Waystation (curently with 55 ferrets in residence) and Ferret Friends of Indian River County International (currently with 9 ferret in residense) have implemented their Disaster Preparations. For Shelters and individuals in the following States: FL, GA, SC, AL, TX. Please be sure you email the AGEDOG should you experience any problems with this Hurricane. It would be best if before the Hurricane made landfall you gave us the following information: How many ferrets in Shelter. How many ferrets critically ill? How many ferrets on medication? and of course the most important information. Where are you? If you plan to evacuate where do you plan to go (give us a phone number). What is your vet phone and fax number. What is the number (and if you have the fax) of your local Humane Society.
