A recent post requested that non-Californians should write to say that they did not move to CA due to ferret laws. I am one of those. I was accepted on full scholarship at 3 prestigious CA universities for doctoral programs in marketing. I refused all offers due to my not being able to bring in my four ferrets and went to the University of Wisconsin instead. When I finished my doctorate, I was in the top 10% of available candidates -- and refused interviews and offers from five CA universities because of the FFZ status. I was born in California, like California, and could be an asset to the California economy and university system -- but I refuse to live there without my "children" (ferrets). My question: How do I write to the CA senate and mail it to CDFA? Do I just start my letter with "Dear California Senate" ?? Is there an address to put on the letter (even though I would mail it to CDFA)? I am a little confused on how to proceed. Please give us more explicit instructions so we can help!
