To Anna Adam:

> Can ferrets get parvovirus? How careful do I have to be with the ferrets?

Anna - ferrets cannot catch canine parvovirus (thankfully). But other
things that they CAN catch from puppies are distempre and coccidia. Most
puppies with parvovirus have it because they weren't vaccinated for anything
at all (parvovirus and distemper vaccination are part of the same shot.)

Make sure that your puppies are wel up-to-date with their vaccinations
(as well as your ferrets) before you consider brining them together....
