Just to add my little contribution to the wild/domestic battle: My sister's little girl ferret got out and was gone for 7 weeks before a kindly mountain biker retrieved her and brought her to the vet. We live near the woods. Anyway-- Snoop was thin, but believe it or not, okay. We have no idea how she didn't fall prey to a raccoon or some other animal, or what she ate. She's fat and happy now, though. And my sister watches her like a HAWK. I am proud to admit that my over-protectivenes of my own ferrets over the years has kept all of them in the house safely. :) Bean (Sable) was much thinner with her enteritis than Snoop was after her "outward bound" course. That was about a year and a half ago. ---- [log in to unmask] (Andrea M.)
