My Pauly likes to have his belly rubbed just like Sarah, Caroline. When I watch the tube, I just put him on his back on my chest and rub his belly. In a matter of minutes he's dozed off. Other times when he's a little more awake he plays with my parents great danes. You should see it. If anyone has seen The Empire Strikes Back with those snow walkers. Pauly runs in between there legs underneath end tables, chairs, couches comes out the other end, while the dogs are looking for him where he went in at and does it again. It's hilarious watching an 170 lb dog trip over its own feet trying to catch this dashing fuzz ball. One of the great danes was brought up around little critters like rabbits, and guinea pigs. So she knows how to play around the ferrets really well. And obviously the ferrets are a little more active than those herbivores. The dog will put its face down to the ferret and Pauly will grab hold of the dog's jowls and Babe will just pull the little guy around the house. Also, no rough housing is allowed by the dog(i.e. jumping and pouncing). Both animals have picked up on this so the ferret takes a few unfair liberties with rules that are put up in effect to protect him. Whenever the dog is sleeping and the ferrets head pops out from underneath something, we know its playtime. And in this corner at 2.2 lbs its Pauly the Intimidator. Doug. [Posted in FML issue 1127]
