        Deborah - I talked with Dr. Balonek todya about this ferret.  My
suggestion is to take a look in the abdomen to see if we can find a pancreatic
neoplasm and also take one of those big inguinal nodes.  I do advocate surgery
over medicine every day, but you also have to throw the animal's age,
debilitation, and sometimes other factors such as economics into the equation.
I do know that no practitioners are really thrilled with proglycem for
insulinoma, and it gets very expensive very quickly.
 
        It' still your decision - if it was my ferret, and I trusted Dr.
Balonek's skill, I'd go for the surgery.
