First, "Thank you" to everyone that has called into Ferret Home (my WWW Home Page). Second, I mentioned earlier that we were going to Oregon (7 hours of round trip driving) last Sunday to the marvelous shelter run by Christine Mathis of the Oregon Ferret Assoc. to get another buddy for Sweet Pea and Snuggles. We did go but we didn't get one - we got FOUR! My wife fell under the spell of a little female silver mitt (spelled TERROR) that we will call Tootsie. My son found a VERY large sable male named Podo (from the Beastmaster film). Christine handed me twin sable sisters as soon as we got there and I couldn't bear to break up the set and they became Littlefoot and Ducky though I still can't tell them apart. Last night we introduced the three new girls to our older two and the five had so much fun they nearly wrecked my office. The smallest, Tootsie, turned out to be a real leaper. She sailed up and into a 2" high trash can four different times. It took her almost five minutes to figure out how to go from the floor to the top of six foot shelves (Oh well, my hair was going grey anyway!). Can't wait to see what happens when Podo is introduced to the group... he was only recently fixed and still thinks he's a virile male so we will wait a few weeks. If you live in the Great Northwest and want a ferret, try the OFA Shelter!
