Hello, all! I've lurked for a month or so, and now that I actually have fuzzies, I'm here to beg for help. We have a ten-month old male that never gives us a moment's trouble, and a three-and-a-half-month old female that LOOKS like a ferret but must be a mutant mole! In the four days we've had her, we have come home to find litter ALL over the floor of the cage from her digging, and food everywhere. Not five minutes ago she stuck those little white feet in the food bowl and sprayed Ferret Chow everywhere, a la Garfield. What's a frazzled owner to do? Is this her not-so-subtle way of telling me, "Hey, Ma, you're putting out WAY too much food and litter!" Or is she just being playful? (I can't stand much more mirth.) Will she get over it? What do I do in the meantime? This isn't doing my Hoover any favors either. On another subject, I haven't seen any foolproof solutions to the scratching problem. So far the rug has survived the fuzzies' fervent attentions, but it can't hold out forever. We're currently trying the squirt bottle approach, but I think they're starting to *like* it... Has anybody successfully broken their ferrets of this undesirable habit? Thanks for any suggestions you can give me! -- Lisa, Raphael (Mama's Angel), and The Bug (who's about to swan-dive off the nest box into the litterbox -- gotta run!) [Posted in FML issue 0994]
