There was a fair bit of footage of a ferret on Northern Exposure tonight. Rather odd "episode" (Doctor Flieschman drank something he shouldn't, and he's hallucinating about all of the people he knows being "down south" in different roles). The ferret is being "cute" and having fun sneaking around under the furniture (fringe trim under the couches - musta had lots of fun) stealing hors-d'ouvres at an *extremely* elegant party. A female sable methinks. Pretty small at least. Patricia thinks the ferret was called "Mr. Brown". Oops, they've discovered it, and everybody panics (including the dreaded word "rabies"). Vague waving around of fireplace poker. Ah, a person stops the mob, offers the ferret some caviar (lucky ;-) and picks it up (properly mind you ;-). In a deep meaningful voice he says, (oh no!), "this animal doesn't belong here, it should be in the wild". Doorman comes in to party, yelling about the "sure stock deal" that the ferret holder recommended and went bust. Pulls gun: "Put down the ferret, I didn't come here to kill an innocent animal." Doorman is offered drink instead, and he accepts Ferret holder comes up to doorman and offers to compensate for loss. Doorman: "Why"? Ferret holder: "Don't know, but when I picked up this poor terrified [yeah sure!] animal and felt its heart beating...." Gives ferret to doorman... Doorman looks uncomfortable... ;-) Flieschman snaps out of dream... You had to be there ;-) [Posted in FML issue 0956]
