It's time for the annual Oregon Ferret Association Fun Match! The fun match will be held August 13th at Cedar Hills Park in Beaverton, Oregon (near Portland.) There is no charge for admission or the enter any event. The fun match will consist of games and a raffle. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes in each game. Donations (currently exceeding $1100 retail value) have been received from merchants and individuals. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Oregon Ferret Association Shelter (currently the largest shelter in the United States.) Our shelter is in desperate need of new cages, and we are hoping to raise enough money to buy about 40 new cages ($800-900). Raffle tickets for the general drawings are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The raffle tickets for the special drawings for ferrets will be $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00. Winners of ferrets must go to the M & P ferretry in Oregon City to select an appropriate ferret. Jean Carlie, a ferret photographer from California (ironic, huh!) will be on hand to promote her Ferret Calendar for 1995 which includes pictures of an OFA shelter kit in the months of May and December. Judi Soule will be taking orders for original pen and ink drawings of ferrets (or any other critter). Adult ferrets will not be sent home until they have been neutered or spayed. Prizes must be claimed prior to the start of the next event or another ticket will be chosen.
