My oldest ferret S.H. had the run of the apartment until he was two. At that time I happened upon an underfed, somewhat maltreated, female who had been pawned (yes pawned!) at a local store. After seeing her cooped up in this dingy store with uncaring employees I had to spring her. It took awhile, I placed their respective cages together so that they would sleep side by side, and I carefully chaperoned play time as the two got to know each other slowly. After two weeks they were inseperable. Not all ferrets will get along but I think with patience most will seem like they could have not gotten along with out their companions. Those two weeks were pretty long and I spent some of quite disguraged. Now everytime I see the two curled up together in their hammock I just smile. Craig [Posted in FML issue 0880]
