Sweatshirts I take old large sweatshirts and cut the arms of and sew the neck and arms closed to make ferret sleeping bags. I place a warm baby blanket inside to cuddle in and all 14 of mine (oops 15 - just got one in last night) love it. I pick up the shirts at garage sales and Thrift Shops for minimal cost. Litter Training My first ferrets were 100% litter trained (believe it or not). I have no idea why except possibly the cage was designed just right. For those that seem untrainable I use puppy training pads under litter boxes, newspapers in corners and under boxes, and pieces of linoleum over carpet areas where they target. Mine are allowed free roam of our home so I have as many litter boxes as ferrets and whenever I catch them in "the act", I plop them in the nearest box. They usually go right in front of one. By the looks on their adorable little faces I can tell they know exactly what they're doing! I clean the boxes twice daily at least and use a ziplock baggie which makes it easy and is more sanitary. I also found the type of litter makes a difference and mine prefer the clumping litter. If anyone comes up with a 100% solution, let me know! [Posted in FML issue 0815]
