I recently saw an article in The Union Jack which is an American newspaper for British expatriates. There was a small article on ferrets which stated that ferrets are gaining in popularity among petowners in Britain. "Last month the National Ferret School launched the National Ferret Week. The little animal, which was used by poachers for centuries, is reputedly well-behaved and easy to train. There are 250,000 ferret owners in Britain, and when lecturer James James McKay of Broomfield College ran a pilot course on the subject, 1,088 people applied to join the course." That's a thought -evening adult education courses in ferrets as pets. Hmmm. Would it fly on this side of the Atlantic? Paula [Posted in FML issue 0799]
