to Dr. Williams or anyone:

Ayla, the youngest of our two females, (she's about 6 months old)
has a swollen and bloodied anal opening after going to the bathroom.
Her anal opening looks normal (unswollen and unbloodied) before going
to the litter box, and the opening looks normal again after about five to
ten minutes afterwards. Her behaviour is unchanged, her stool looks
normal (color, texture, and size), and there is no change in her gait.
The other female, Zoe, who is about 9 months old, has had no similar
symptoms, although they both sleep toghether in the same cage.
When I gently touched the swollen anal opening with a white paper
napkin, the napkin was stained with a red liquid (blood?) and a
transparent one (?--clear liquid, not cloudy, nor greenish/yellowish
in color)

Is this anything I should worry about? I live in California, and I am
currently looking for a vet that takes care of ferrets.
Any information will be very appreciated.
