I'm afraid it doesn't wash. It was clear by your message in issue 745 that you were intending to be offensive, referring to specific messages in the FML (it's a mailing list, *not* a "board", damnit!), and liberally sprinkled with insults ("indigent", "irresponsible behaviour", "heroic fools", "last year's cat medicine", implications of doing dishonourable things, "no excuse", "make it up", "I am too angry" etc.) All with virtually no understanding of the real situation, and a whopping dose of insensitivity. Was there ever any doubt which message you were referring to? We're up over 750 issues. Near 7 years. And so far we've managed to avoid flame wars (except for being called a fascist dictator for doing exactly what someone asked a couple of hundred issues ago ;-). I don't want to let this pass for normal behaviour on the FML. It is for reasons - civility, high S/N ratio, and a sense of community that the FML is still a mailing list instead of a USENET newsgroup. We don't need post-facto rationalizations or preaching. A simple apology to Victoria, and a return to the normal business of the FML is all. [Posted in FML issue 0753]
