WILLIAMB@EMAIL While I cherish your advice immensly here, especially since I live in an FFZ, I think your advice on rabies vaccinations is poor. As evidenced by the KS Bite Case, even where they are legal, bites can be a problem and WITHOUT a vaccination, no lawyer has a chance in h**l to help any animal who gets into trouble this way . For FFZ ferret owners, this is doubly so. For example, in CA, it has taken years of work for Bill Phillips and CDFA to stop Fish & Game for killing confiscated animals (now they MUST ship them out of state). If you cannot prove vaccinations, they suddenly have a great case for killing them. Sure, it is by no means any GREAT help, as you mention, but isn't SOMETHING better than NOTHING? Like I said, I do appreciate all your other advice (I am impressed, actually, I think I even saw someone post a blood test here once). Your service to people in FFZ who read FML, where good vet care is hard to come by, is immesurable. BUT, you might want to talk to Bill Phillips at CDFA about the legal issues involving vaccinations....or talk to someone involved in the KS bite case (which Mr. Phillips is).
