Ferret Games:
We have an area rug (5 x 7) and Emmett loves to tunnel under it,
which is dangerous. So we "roll up the rug" to make a real tunnel.
Then we play a type of "tag" game!
I run after the Em, flapping my hands and saying, "I'm gonna
get you!" and he dashes into one end of the rug tunnel.
Then I race him to the other end. He'll stick his head out
("pop! goes the weasel") and I'll turn around and race him
back to the first end. He will then race to that end and stick
his head out.
We keep this back-and-forth up for a while, and then he does
not appear at the end where I am. I stay where I am, asking
"Where are you?" even though I know where he is...he is
sneaking up behind me!
I "discover" that he's sneaking up behind me and and I
exclaim, "Oh, you *sneak*" admiringly--at which point
he makes a mad dash past me to sneak into the rug tunnel!
Then he sort of swishes his tail back and forth really
fast. . .
Sometimes instead of me "getting" him, he wanted to "get"
me by grabbing my feet. If he grabbed too hard, I'd say
"Ow!" very pitifully and he'd look embarassed and sort of
wander off with a "Who, me?" expression. Now he grabs
gently and I tell him, "Ya got me!" which makes him dance
happily!
We play this game just about every day. The rug is getting
a permanent curl to it, but Em and I are getting exercise--
and I know we will not accidentally tromple him!
