My husband, Mike and I am the parents of a 9 month old ferret named "Pauly"
(named after the comic Pauly Shore). We got him in April '93 and from this
list, determined that he is from Marshall Farms (Small tattoo so we called
the pet shop). I have purchased every book I can find in New Hampshire
about Ferrets trying to identify what type he is (ie: Sable? Silver Mitt?
Sterling?...I know he isn't an Albino).
He is 3 lbs and 11 inches long. He has white "socks", white throat, muzzle
and ears. His tail is medium brown extending to his bum and half-way down
his rear legs. It's the same for his shoulders. His trunk and top of head is
medium brown (the medium brown I keep refering to isn't a true brown, it's
kinda ashy) turning to white on his face with a medium brown/ashy mask.
I only saw other ferrets in pet stores (babies) and some have dark brown
markings where Pauly has that ashy color (the books say they are Sables,
very pretty...I might want another ferret!). He has black shiny eyes and
very friendly (LOVES to meet/kiss people, can't keep him out of the room if
someone stops by). Can anyone out there please help us identify what kind
of ferret he is? Thank you very much for your help.
Deb, Mike and Pauly (the diplomat)
