To anon in California: Get in touch with: California Domestic Ferret Bill Phillips, Esq. (707)431-2277 Association PO Box 1868 Healdsburg, CA 95448 He's the one handling the legislation, and can answer all of your questions. He's also working on a list of ferret-friendly vets, and has a network of CA ferret shelters/rescues that work to shuttle ferrets out of CA. I don't know if any will adopt in-state, though. They fought long and hard to be legally allowed to even rescue the ferrets, I doubt they would want to jeopardize that. And, send me some e-mail and I'll send you a copy of the STAR shelter list. Oh, BTW, I believe that a CDFA membership is $25/yr. I'm sure their newsletter would be the best means of keeping up on the CA situation. - Nancy Nancy Hartman Internet - [log in to unmask] GEnie - n.hartman4 President, Delaware Valley Ferret Club | CIS Grad Student, U. of Delaware *** Caregiver to Percy, Bree, & Popcorn, the ferrets *** "We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals" - Kant [Posted in FML issue 0518]
