My ferret Persephone came to me as a two year old. I would like to know how one handles biting problems. I will be holding her, and all of a sudden she takes a hold of my forearm in her teeth. She doesn't nip, exactly- it is more as though she was getting ready to drag me off to one of her hiding places. What are some good ways of gentling a ferret that spent much of her early life caged and with minimal human contact? She has free run of the house only when we are home. She and the cats have established a modus vivendi, but I worry about them unsupervised. Thanks so much, Paula [Posted in FML issue 0479]
