In response to the "New Improved Taste" science diet, I found a foolproof way to get my ferret "Weasel" to eat it... The cats and he all get the same food, but he eats out of their dish when he can, and they eat out of his dish when they can. Everyone is happy, everyone gets the same food, and there is no problem with acceptance. After all, he feels that he is stealing the cat's food, so it MUST be good. The cats are finally figuring out this pesky little mouse with teeth & claws. At first, they thought he was prey, but he educated them QUITE well on that count. Now, more likely than not, Weasel will go up to one or the other cat, give the cat kisses to lull them into a false sense of security, and then <CHOMP> on the ear. Much yowling, chasing, playing, and hissing results, but they seem to be having fun (getting distracted by ping pong balls during the chase or whatever), and nobody gets hurt. Anyone have any hints on cat/ ferret interactions? Thanks, Dave Hinz [log in to unmask] [Posted in FML issue 0414]
