The Encyclopedia of Danger :Dangerous Mammals by Missy Allen and Michel Peissel Chelsea House Publishers Copyright 1993 ISBN 0-7910-1790-7 0-7910-1935-7 (pbk.) If the rest of this book is anything like page 38-41 "Ferret", then this book should be banned from the shelves of all libraries in the world. The authors must have gleaned their 'data' from the pages of the infamous Constantine/Kiser report. According to this tome, ferrets "display a penchant for ripping the flesh from the faces of human babies". It goes on to state that "Human victims are usually bitten on the face, and the wounds can be disfiguring... Ferrets carry and transmit rabies. The incubation period for rabies in ferrets hasnot been established (true) nor is there a licensed rabies vaccine for them - and thus there is a serious risk of infection." Their recommendation if that people "stick with dogs and gats as pets." Dunno about y'all, but I'm gonna give these authors a piece of my mind, and send them some positive info on ferrets.
