Okay, I'm out of my answering mode and into my `million questions' mode. I'm thinking about getting a new ferret to keep Trella company. First of all, I'm wondering, everyone says that having more than one seems to make the first one come out of his/her shell more -- although Trella has become quite affectionate of late all on her own. Does this hold true if there are already other animals in the house that she plays with? I mean, since she's already got company (except when I'm not home -- which is a lot -- one reason I've decided I want an addition -- guilt!), is she probably as active/affectionate as she's going to get (aside from maturing) or does getting another of the same species seem to add a special ingredient to the formula? Hmmm. Also, and here's the biggy. Someone said that twice the ferrets = ten times the mischief. I can deal with this, but does having two ever mean they entertain each other instead of getting into everything out of boredom. Or does their curiousity still win out and they're always going to be into something -- Trella already takes quite a bit of energy! Okay, I know, she's only 5 months old, what can you expect? Any and all answers/advice would be apprectiated. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Trella keeps scratching. I give her ferretone and only wash her once every two weeks with ferret aloe shampoo. I don't see any bumps or irritated/bald spots, although my imaginative motherly mind seems to think her lower abdomen may be a little pinker than the rest, but my roommate doesn't think so. Otherwise, Trella's perfectly normal, it's just sometimes when she's falling asleep or even running she'll stop short to bite at herself. How much do ferrets groom normally -- she chews at herself quite a bit when she's resting, too. No fleas, by the way, either. Okay, I'm done now. Thanks for listening!
