Hello! My girlfriend and I have decided that we would like to buy a ferret each, (one of those couple things) but our, or actually my experience with these cute little guys is limited. A friend of mine in NJ had 3 that I just adored, but I never was around when/if anything serious was happenning with his ferrets. So, before I jump into this, I have some questions that I'm hoping either you or some of your subscribers could help me with. 1. How much does it cost to maintain these guys, and how much should be a reasonable price at a store? 2. Anybody know of any reliable stores in the CT area, as we are from RI and ferrets are illegal to sell. Also - are ferrets common enough to be found at humane societies? 3. We would like to start with yougsters, but after reading much of your list and the manifestations of illnesses ferrets can get, I'm wondering if it would be wiser to start with young adults? Thank you in advance! We are really excited about getting involved in the fun, but we just want to make sure that ferrets are economically viable pets, and we want them to be around a while. Pets are more fun when they become a part of your life. Again, many thanks. My address is [log in to unmask] -SAZ Live long and prosper [Posted in FML issue 0341]
