Major illegal cities include (but not limited to) Washington DC, New York City, and Baltimore City. Specific counties also ban ferrets in Ohio, Texas, and elsewhere. Most military bases ban ferrets (although loads of military personnel own them). Check the local statutes before moving! For more information on legalization of ferrets, contact Madeline Lowery, Chair, Committee on Legislative Affairs, American Ferret Association (AFA P.O. Box 3986 Frederick, Maryland 21701-3986). Dr. Hoffman/VP American Ferret Association ---------- Pet-Net RT P.GRANT6 [Pam/Pet Pals] at 22:03 EST Hawaii does not "ban" ferrets in the truest sense of the word. The quarantine period for ANY mammal is 6 months and most individuals can not afford the boarding fee. Same with England and most island countries. But you can take your ferret to Germany with no problem! [Posted in FML issue 0231]
