Pet-Net RT Category 5, Topic 8 Message 163 Thu Nov 14, 1991 P.GRANT6 [PET PALS] at 21:47 EST For the mailing list folks: Eric - Why test for crashes when we KNOW airbags and seatbelts work? [Well, this is the wrong answer: 1) there are lots of people who would contest that. And even have statistics that appear to bear that out. 2) do those *specific* airbags and seatbelts work? 3) can they make them better with this information? The real answer is that the experiments appeared to be bad science, and the results bear no relation to that with humans. Or, at least, the PETA quotes show that some MD's and DVM's felt that way. I'd prefer to see the ruling of a University or Hospital type experimentation committee (but they're usually not applicable to commercial research), but never mind.] Litterbox: 1) Put ferret sample in clean box. 2) Wake up a ferret. 3) Hold the ferret for 5 minutes. 4) Put ferret in litter box. 5) Keep putting ferret in litterbox until duty is accomplished. 6) Reward ferret with linatone or a raisin. Repeat with next ferret and each time ferrets are brought out to play. They will automatically head for the box just to get a reward, so make sure they do their thing first. The little boogers are tricky! Brian - Are you aware that ferrets are still illegal in CA at this time? ---------- Pam [Posted in FML 0195]
