[Originally sent sometime August 1st.] [You sent your article to ferret.list - it's "ferret-list". Your message sat in the bad mail folder until I saw it today] I am owned by a 7 year old spayed Albino named Bebe. She has been a very rambunctious, lively little thing for several years. But through all those years, she has had problems with hair loss on her tail. The vet seemed to think it was an infection of some kind, and treated it with antibiotics. It would go away for a few weeks and then return when we stopped the drugs. I thought it might be ear mites, so we've treated for mites very heavily, and it appears to have gone away. But she also has a yellowing of the fur. When the vet had her on antibiotics, her fur regained its original pure white color. Over the past two week ago, she has again begun losing hair on her tail, and experiencing the yellowing of fur, but this time, no evidence of ear mites. She is also has two small cuts, one on her side and one on her nose that don't seem to want to go away. Could this just be her fault for scratching them or could it be something worth more attention? I guess what I'm really asking, is there a vet one might reccommend in the Northern NJ/NYC area? This problems seem minor to me, but I don't feel as if I'm getting a very informed answer when I ask about them at my current vet's office.
