I figured the response will be similar here, so I'll > offer you this, too. It looks like my previous message got lost, so I guess I should explain... I was interviewed a while ago by a reporter from the Wilmington News Journal for an article on ferrets. That article finally ran this Tuesday. (How exciting! :-) ) I am very pleased with it! It is very pro-ferret, in fact it is titled "Ferret: For fun and friendship". It's a *BIG* article, running on the front of the Pace section (the section with the comics, etc.), with a big *color* picture of me holding Percy and Bree (who look very unhappy about being held with all this neat photography equipment sitting around to explore. :-) ), a small picture of Bree begging for a treat, and a small picture of Percy coming out of one of their tubes. The caption under the big picture says "Nancy Hartman holds Bree and Percy, her pet ferrets. The animals have been domesticated since ancient Egyptian times, she says, and never have been really wild." (I'll give myself a pat on the back for that one... :-) ) The article even got mentioned on the front page, in one of those blocks up top to get you to look for the article. (I made the front page!!! :-) ) There are a few small errors in the article, but nothing serious. And he took a few of my quotes out of context, but the overall effect didn't hurt the article (although it made me sound sort of airheaded, but I can live with that...). (BTW, if anyone's ever interviewed, never say "'cause", they *won't* edit it to "because".) He picked some really informative quotes, made ferrets sound like great fun, plugged my club and our upcoming picnic, and all this after Percy nipped him during the interview. (Boy, was I worried about this article after that!!!) So I'm very pleased with it! :-) So, my offer still stands. I'll send any copies I can get my hands on to people on a first-come, first-served basis. So get your requests in if you want one.
