I keep getting mailer problems being reported to me - for example, one person was trying to change their mailing address, and only the third attempt made it. The first two didn't bounce either. As far as mailing this thing, I usually get one or two bounces per issue. "davis@utx1" being the usual offender - utx1's neighbors periodically forget that they connect to utx1, and when I finally get a path that works, one of the SA's gets annoyed and tells me to use the pathalias one (the original one) that sporadically fails. I've even had one or two people ask for subscriptions, and have *never* been able to contact them. (Stephen Hajdu where are you? Your site has never heard of you!) When an issue bounces, I can usually manage to resend it. For some reason, mailing seems to have gotten worse within the last couple of weeks. I would like to try an experiment: could *everyone* try mailing something to me? - If you have pathalias, try: ferret-request@spectrix This may be necessary: [log in to unmask] - If you're on another net than uucp, try: spectrix!ferret-request@uunet or: [log in to unmask] or: [log in to unmask] If you don't have pathalias, but are on uucp, try: ....!uunet!mnetor!spectrix!ferret-request In a week or so I will list everybody who got thru, and I'll attempt to contact those people personally who didn't get thru so we can figure out what's going wrong. In your note to me, please let me know: - do you receive mailing list issues out of order? - have you ever missed an issue completely? - what's the typical delay between the date on the issue and when you receive it?
