Hmm..Ferret mailing list..I almost forgot I joined, since I never receive anything from it..Well, lets start.. [Because there simply isn't much traffic...] Our ferrets (3 ..2 female, 1 male) have a little 2 story ferret "condo".. It basically is a fairly large (6 feet long by ...say...3 feet wide, 4 feet tall on 2 feet tall stilts). The whole thing can be divided into: 4 seperated cubes, 1 large cube on the bottom, 1 large cube on top (either seperated or access allowed from top to bottom), or any combination. We usuallyjust keep the large compartments allowing the ferrets to roam free.. The bottom has the sleeping quarters, litter boxes, food and water..the top has the toys.. When we let the ferrets out, we simply open up one of the bottom level doors (there are 4 doors), and have a rough wooden "ramp" that runs from the compartment to the floor. The ferrets can then slide down to roam the floor or climb up for food and water. Our ferrets however NEVER climb back to sleep in the condo (we have boxes filled with soft towels)..Instead they like to crawl under the sofa and sleep under there (next to the heat register)... Question for the group: How does one litter box train 3 ferrets? When they are in the condo, they use the litter boxes provided just fine..However, when let "loose" to roam, they NEVER seem to use the "outside" litter box (on the ground floor in a corner).. Instead, they seem to go out of their way to use any other available corner...Any ideas? [Posted in FML 0015]
