To the best of my knowledge, New Zealand is the only area where domestic ferrets have escaped into the wild and actually thrived. Likely it was a combination of [A] few if any native predators, and [B] the abundance of prey (rabbits) which was why they were imported in the first place. Lonny Eachus [Posted in FML 8126]
