For those who use human meters for ferrets (which typically give the
wrong numbers but the right direction of change), please, note that
Abbott and the FDA are again warning people about erroneously low
readings with Freestyle meters.

For more correct readings w human meters either conduct multiple
comparison tests at the same time with your vet's in house testing to
know how to mathematically adjust for differences in ferret and human
blood, or instead on the right setting use the veterinary meter,
Alphatrak, which is also made by Abbott.
