According to reports, there is just one ferret. On Friday, officials
from the Doddridge County Sheriff's Department, the West Union Police
Department, the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and Harrison
County Animal Control executed a search warrant at the residence on
Louise Avenue in West Union.

Upon entry, officials found and seized 184 animals: 22 dogs, 106 cats,
1 ferret, and 55 birds, according to Deputy Garner of the Doddridge
County Sheriff's Department. Garner said they also found two dead cats.

Garner said the animals were living in terrible conditions, the
majority of the animals were in cages. Garner said the owner of the
house, an elderly woman, fully cooperated with authorities, but that
charges are pending.

The Harrison County animal control shelter, Pet Helpers, and P.U.R.R.
West Virginia are currently housing the animals. If you can help,
contact the Doddridge County Sheriff's Department at (304) 873-1944.

I will bet that the cats are unfixed hence so many. Or she became a
dumping ground for others.
