I want to tell all you shelter parents how much you are appreciated for your devotion to the lost and the homeless in the ferret kingdom. Also those who provide hospice care for the sick little ones. I don't know how you do it! All the time and money required to run a shelter! The poor little souls that come to you sick and tired with no expectation to recover. To care for them and to lose them. It must break your heart. The ferrets that come because they are no longer wanted. They are small and defenceless and you may be their last home. To know all of you are there for those little ones and that you care about each and every one is heart warming. I couldn't do your job! To go to your jobs and put in all there time they need just for basic care; then do fund raising and get vet care. And still you give love and attention to them all; you are miracles! We know we can't save them all but you guys save as many as you can every day. I wish every shelter ferret could get a gift for Christmas not just those on the tree. These gifts at Christmas must, at times, just give something shelters needed new bedding, food or treats. Or money to help with those expensive vet bills. One year i didn't have much to give and I didn't pick anyone from the tree. I realize that even a few dollars in an envelope would be a few dollar less that a shelter would have to worry about. I guess what I want to say is thanks to the shelters who do such a difficult job and for the rest of us, do what you can to help them. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Olivia [Posted in FML 7982]
