My Chia has Juvenile Lymphoma. She is 9 months old. She has had a cough for a couple months now, which is why I took her in to the vet in the first place. They did some x-rays and found nothing abnormal. Just yesterday I took her back into the vet because she has gained an entire pound in just under a month, and she still has her cough. I also noted some slight swelling where the lymph nodes above her shoulders would be. Since I have never dealt with JL before, I was not confident that I could properly tell if her lymph nodes were swollen, or if it was just a fat pad. The vets did some chest x-rays, and compared them to her chest x-rays from last month. Significant mediastinum swelling was noticed in the most recent x-rays. Multiple vets were able to look at her x-rays and agreed that it was JL. They also did some palpations and took her temperature. No blood work was done, and neither was a biopsy or aspiration of the lymph nodes. The vet stated that aspirations are very difficult due to the amount of fat surrounding the nodes, and that the test often comes back with no useful information (due to the fact that they normally only pick up fat in the sample). They said I could do a biopsy but that they were very confident with their diagnosis. I am looking for some holistic methods, supplements, and advice, to help give me as much time as possible with Chia. She is currently on 1ml of Prednisolone every 12 hours, from the 5mg/ml concentration. I also have copies of her x-rays, if anyone would like to see them. I have a thread created on the HFF if anyone is interested in taking a look at it: <http://holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/12195/juvenile-lymphoma#ixzz2VrXuHcP4> Thank you so much for taking the time to read my rather long post. -- Sincerely, Andrea W [Posted in FML 7816]
