As people who feed raw chicken often also mention given how common
salmonella is turning out to be in supermarket chicken when better
testing approaches are used: unlike humans most HEALTHY ferrets have
some resistance to Salmonella, though it is just as hard to treat in
them and just as nasty when they do get it. Other forms of food
poisoning and parasites are more serious for most healthy ferrets.
