I used to wonder about Nell when I first was reading of her adventures on the FML. The during the Pittsburg Symposium I needed a roommate and was teamed up with her. What a delightful person and she was trying to make a difference in the lives of her Ethiopian friends by starting her sewing business.( Back when she was young and married her husband was in the Peace Corp and they lived in Ethiopia. She loved the people and country enough to go back years later.) She brought along some of the scarves and other items they had made. She got her ferrets over there, but the donkey and other animals she has rescued and healed over there. The people mostly do not have high regard for the animals or rights of other people. It sounds rather like everyone for him/herself. She has to get out and doesn't want to leave the large animals behind to face a cruel fate. Her money has been stolen, she is living on Social Security so she is asking for our help, bit by bit, to make this happen. For those that don't know her she is from California, is retired, worked for computer companies writing manuals, is an honest person who is asking for some help. That's my 2 cents worth, or is is a dime now? Carol J. Owens Ferret Friends, Inc. Tucson AZ [Posted in FML 7687]
