Hi, I have been a subscriber to the FML for quite a while, but have never felt the need to write in until now. I am in need of some advice from the community. I have a young female ferret (age unknown but probably close to 10-11 months) that I rescued from a lab I was working at. I have had her for about 5 months now. She is very healthy and well loved, but I am getting ready to start grad school and am worried that I won't be able to spend as much time with her out of her cage as usual. So, I am considering adopting a male friend for her. I have had a lot of people say that this will be best; they'll keep each other entertained and preoccupied, etc.. However, my fear is them not accepting each other. Can you all give me an idea of what it's really like integrating a new ferret into the family? I have read the details on how to get them used to each other and introduce them, I'm just looking for real stories-the good and bad-detailing ferret introductions. Please fel free to email me at [log in to unmask] if you'd like, and thanks to everyone for their help! Kelly [Posted in FML 7665]
